Camino Day 40: Leon Cathedral

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake.

Day 40: Santa Maria de Leon Cathedral, Leon, Spain
Day 40: Santa Maria de Leon Cathedral, Leon, Spain

This is the Santa Maria de Leon Cathedral in Leon, Spain. It is about two thirds of the way on the Camino Francis and one of the three major cathedrals. The other two being the one Burgos (a third of the way) and Santiago (at the end). This was my favorite cathedral. It is much smaller then the other two and is famous for its stained glass windows. I ended up not visiting the inside the afternoon I arrived but the following morning. While still beautiful, I thinking visiting the inside in the afternoon would have been better, getting the full effect of the sunlight thru the stained glass.
